Cody Ross played hero Monday, launching a pair of homers, including one to break a tie in the top of the ninth inning, in a win over the Twins.
Ross was hitless in his first two at-bats but then took Jason Marquis deep with a two-run shot in the seventh and then got to closer Matt Capps with an opposite-field shot in the ninth. He's off to a nice start with the BoSox, batting .283 with a team-leading five homers and 13 RBI.
