Mets manager Terry Collins said Friday that David Wright (abdominal strain) may not resume live baseball activities until the middle or end of next week.
Wright revealed earlier this week that he has a tear of the rectus abdominis muscle on his left side. He was given an anti-inflammatory injection on Monday to help with the healing process, but the Mets are being very cautious at the moment. Wright hasn't ruled out the possibility that he'll be ready for Opening Day, but he's quickly running out of the time.
