The Charlotte Observer expects re-signing Jeremy Shockey to be a priority for the Panthers this offseason.
Shockey is seeking a deal close to the $4 million he made last season, which could be cost prohibitive for a team with a 2012 cap projection in the range of $121 million. If he's unwilling to take a pay cut, the Panthers would likely turn to fourth-year pro Gary Barnidge as a complement to Greg Olsen. Barnidge missed all of the 2011 season with a broken ankle.
