Report: Gordon says knee pain subsiding
Eric Gordon - G - New Orleans Hornets
Nov. 27, 2012 - 6:55 AM ET

Eric Gordon said the pain within his chronic knee injury is subsiding, but there is still no timetable for his return.

Gordon is eligible to be traded on Jan. 15, though a team would have to be as dumb as the Hornets were to get involved in this mess. He also said his knee was fine in the run up to get a contract last season, and he could be aiming to do the same 'tryout based approach' that saw him gear up for a short run of high-volume games only to claim unrelated injury afterward and take time off. Still, there are 58 million reasons for the Hornets to make things work out, and if we take this report at face value owners need to be ready to stash at some point. Whether or not this is that moment comes down to an owner's specific risk tolerance.
