Josh Smith's nightmare start continued even as the Hawks cruised to a 81-72 win against the Magic on Monday, as he hit just 3-of-10 shots (0-for-3 from the line) for six points, two boards, one assist, one steal, and one block in 23 minutes.
We don't want to overreact, but Smith airballed his fourth free throw of the year and it's possible some of his hesitancy to play inside comes from Andris Biedrins Fever. There are other issues, including his body language, effort, and basketball IQ, but after that promising retrospect we're going to tell owners to hold and target. Hold him while his value is in the gutter, and target him in trades with fed up owners. He simply can't play this bad all year long.
