Canes call up D Brett Bellemore

The Hurricanes have called up Brett Bellemore.
The 6-foot-4, 210-pound defender may make his NHL debut Thursday night against New Jersey. Bellemore has 13 points and 85 penalty minutes in 62 games with the Charlotte Checkers this season. Carolina had to make a move on their back end after losing Justin Faulk for two-to-four weeks due to a sprained knee.
