
P.K. Subban didn't like being called for a high-sticking penalty in overtime Tuesday night, but coach Michel Therrien didn't back up his player in this instance.
"It was a bad penalty, especially with the effort the guys had in the second and third periods," said Therrien. "We're going to take care of that so that it doesn't happen again." The Buffalo Sabres scored on the ensuing man advantage to defeat the Canadiens 3-2. Subban logged nearly 26 minutes of ice time in the contest and finished with three shots on goal. He leads all NHL defensemen with seven goals and sits fourth in scoring with 20 points in 23 contests.
