Manny Malholtra addressed the media for the first time since Canucks general manager Mike Gillis put him on injured reserve due to the recurring effects of his serious eye injury suffered almost two years ago.
Malhotra says he feels "good" and "comfortable" with his abilities and disagrees with Gillis' decision to shut him down, though he doesn't harbor negative feelings toward him. "I truly believe he cares for my well being and for my future ' not only in the game of hockey but as a young man, a young father," Malhotra said. "He wants to see me have a successful life post hockey." Malhotra's contract expires at the end of the season. He said he won't be demanding a trade and would discuss his future with his family.
