The Buffalo Sabres have fired head coach Lindy Ruff.
GM Darcy Regier has announced via the team's Twitter account, that the NHL's longest-tenured head coach has been relieved of his duties. Ruff had been behind the bench for Buffalo since 1997-98, but the team's disappointing 6-10-1 start to the 2013 campaign caused him to lose his job. There hasn't been any word on who will replace him yet.
