Viktor Fasth has been rewarded with a two-year extension from the Anaheim Ducks.
The 30-year-old "rookie" has opened his NHL career with a perfect 8-0-0 record, a .933 save percentage and a 1.78 goals-against average in nine appearances. "Viktor has proven himself not only this year in the NHL but the previous two seasons as the top goaltender in Sweden," GM Bob Murray said in a statement. "We are pleased to be able to keep him and feel fortunate to have two top NHL goaltenders going forward." He should continue to share time with Jonas Hiller in Anaheim's crease for the remainder of the year.
