Panthers sign rookie WR Brandon LaFell

Panthers agreed to terms with third-round WR Brandon LaFell on a four-year contract, including a signing bonus of roughly $814,000.
A big receiver with a knack for making catches in traffic, LaFell slid in the draft due to iffy hands and concentration lapses. Panthers receivers coach Tyke Tolbert is already a fan, praising LaFell's blocking ability while blaming his senior season issues on poor QB play. He'll battle Dwayne Jarrett for the starting job in camp.
