Devils re-acquire Alexei Ponikarovsky
Alexei Ponikarovsky - W - New Jersey Devils
Feb. 14, 2013 - 1:45 AM ET

The Devils re-acquired Alexei Ponikarovsky from the Jets in exchange for a 2013 seventh-rounder and a fourth-round pick in 2014.

It's the second time general manager Lou Lamoriello has brought in the 6-foot-4 Russian as he was shipped from Carolina midway through last season. Ponikarovsky had two goals with Winnipeg, where he recently signed a one-year $1.8 million deal, after notching 18 points in 33 games with New Jersey last year. With Dainius Zubrus, who was averaging 18:16 of ice time, about to have wrist surgery, Ponikarovsky will get an increased role with the Devils, but that doesn't mean he's suddenly worth going crazy for in fantasy leagues.
