Coach Todd Richards could be leaning towards naming Brandon Dubinsky the new captain of the Columbus Blue Jackets.
Dubinsky was dealt to the Blue Jackets in the off-season as part of a trade for former Columbus captain Rick Nash. "He's trying to lead," Richards said. "He's trying to lead the team. Teams' identities a lot of times are created based on their leaders and how they play. It was a workmanlike attitude tonight, and to me, that's Brandon's game. He's got some skill. He's got some speed. Yes, he can do those things, but it's his tenacity. I think we were a tenacious group tonight." Dubinsky scored his first goal of the season Monday in a 6-2 win over San Jose.
