Scott Gomez officially signs with Sharks

Scott Gomez's has agreed to a one-year contract with the San Jose Sharks.
According to a source, Gomez's pro-rated deal is worth $700,000. The Canadiens bought him out last week and will pay him his $5.5-million (prorated) salary for this season plus two-thirds of the $4.5 million he was set to make next year. Gomez is slated to center San Jose's third line when he debuts with the team.
