Nikita Nikitin and Fedor Tyutin were each minus-three in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Detroit Red Wings.
The duo are the second unit for the Blue Jackets and struggled Monday at even strength. The Blue Jackets were strong on the penalty kill as they were perfect in seven chances. Nikitin was a bit of a surprise last season, showing some offensive flair once he was traded from St. Louis to the Blue Jackets, so he could be picked up in deep, deep pools although his plus/minus could be an area of concern.
