The Canucks have signed Alexander Edler to a six-year extension worth $30 million.
Edler is in the final year of a four-year, $13 million contract, as he was set to be an unrestricted free agent next offseason. Starting next year, he'll become the team's highest-paid defenseman. Edler is a very good offensive blueliner, and, at 26 is only about to begin his prime years. He had 49 points in 82 games last season.
