Bruins' forward Michael Ryder played well on Saturday after being re-inserted to the lineup.
Ryder had been a healthy scratch earlier in the week, but with the injury to Shawn Thornton he was called upon and delivered with a goal in 13:26 of ice time against the Thrashers. Coach Claude Julien spoke about Ryder's opportunity to play on the team's third line alongside Rich Peverley and Chris Kelly, saying "Just a chance for him to understand that he's making steps in the right direction and, 'Here you go, a little bit more ice here on a different line'." His spot in the Bruins' playoff lineup is far from secure, but this is a step in the right direction for the sniper.
