
NHL commissioner Gary Bettman said the "Make Whole" provision in its entirety as a concept is off the table.
Some other ideas that the league brought to the table this week have also been removed because they were a "package" that didn't elicit the response the league was looking to help the two sides come to an agreement. Bettman also said there isn't a drop-dead date for the cancellation of the year and that both sides need to regroup. After some optimism, it looks like we are back to square one and the next step is unclear. However, we should point out that it doesn't mean that these concepts can't return down the line.
