According to The Columbus Dispatch, Ryan Murray suffered a torn labrum on Friday night and will likely need surgery.
The Columbus Blue Jackets have yet to release an official diagnosis on Murray's injury, and will wait until he sees team medical officials later in the week. If he needs surgery then it will likely end his season. The Everett Silvertips' captain would also miss a chance to compete for Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior Championships in December. Obviously, surgery would be devastating for Murray, who was expected to challenge for a roster spot with Columbus before the lockout. Stay tuned for announcements from the Blue Jackets' brass later in the week.
