Claude Giroux will have neck examined in U.S.
Claude Giroux - C - Philadelphia Flyers
Nov. 20, 2012 - 11:40 AM ET

Claude Giroux has informed the Daily News via text message that he will return to North America to have his injured neck examined in Atlanta.

His Deutsche Eishockey Liga team, Eisbaren Berlin, first reported the news on their website. Giroux suffered a neck injury on Friday as a result of a check to the head, but was originally adamant that he felt fine. He will be examined by the specialist that worked with Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews and Guillame Latendresse on their concussion issues. According to Giroux's agent, Pat Brisson, his client's visit is just a "precaution" and "we don't believe it's serious."
