Shane Doan meets with the New York Rangers

Unrestricted free agent Shane Doan has met with the New York Rangers.
Doan is already familiar with the Rangers' coaching staff from their links to the Phoenix Coyotes. For example, John Tortorella served as an assistant coach with that team in 1997-98 and 1998-99. It's believed that Doan would like to stay in Glendale, but he might sign elsewhere if he's not comfortable with the Coyotes ongoing struggle to get an owner.
