Rose dominates with 44-point night in Game 3
Derrick Rose - G - Chicago Bulls
May 6, 2011 - 9:50 PM ET

Derrick Rose went ballistic in the Bulls' Game 3 win over the Hawks on Friday, scoring 44 points on 16-of-27 shooting (4-of-7 from downtown, 8-of-9 from the line) with five rebounds, seven assists, one steal, one block, and just two turnovers.

He said at halftime and after the game that the problems with his ankle were not physical, but mental instead, and watching the tape it was easy to see that he also struggled getting by plus-defender Jeff Teague, who got the best of him in Game 1 and 2. Tonight, he was much more assertive and looked to drive any time he wasn't covered by Teague, and when his outside shot started to fall even Teague was unable to stop him. The bottom line is that when Rose is on his game like tonight, he is unstoppable.
