as a boy my dad told me about all the great teams the cubs had in the 1930-1945 era and since i was only 3 years when they last went to the world series i do not remember it however i have seen the 1969 1984 1989 2003 2007 collapses and i came to the conclusion that the Good Lord Has no interest in baseball or any other sport however this year he may prove me wrong i think the cubs have a legitimate shot at the world series

I would give up my Husband (who I love dearly) because it would be the ultimate gift I could give him since he is a fan over 60 years and that would be his dream come true. He has a room just devoted to the Cubs.
— Betty Holland of West Caldwell, N.J.

I'd give up that complete dump of a stadium called Wrigley Field.

I don't want to see it this year or another 100 years! I pray that I dead and gone before this would happen. As a true Cardinal fan, it's just not right! Look at the money the cubs have spent and what they have to show for it! NOTHING! When the Cards win World Series and the cubs end up in last, it's a perfect season!
— Greg Godsil

I'd give up my dignity if front of 40,000 plus people and ask for my ex-wife to take me back. The Cubs winning has to be a sign that something special was meant to happen for us.
— Godfrey Logan

I would give up my house. Wouldn't need it anymore as I would be in my own little world floating on cloud 9.
— Brian Hafner

My Career (Air Force), Dignity, Left Arm (I'm right handed), Car, and anything else remotely important besides continuing to be a Chicago Cubs Fan. I would also take up the profession of herding penguins in the artic in a hawaiian shirt, shorts, and cabana shoes.

I would give up praying for them to win a World Series. I saw my first Cub game in 1932 against the Pittsburgh Pirates which they lost and manger Rogers Hornsby was fired. Charley Grimm took over and led them to the pennant. Subsequently lost to the New York Yankees four straight games. That was the year rhat Babe Ruth supposedly pointed to the center field bleachers and hit that famous home run off Charley Root.
