Readers share their thoughts on NBA Finals
Lakers are great but with Kobe alone and running the offense without any help then they're doom. He is selfish just like when Shaq was with the team. The Celtics showed far maturity than I expected and they got what they wanted another,NBA Championship

Long time Laker fan when Wilt, Jerry, Elgin, and other greats like Jabbar, Magic,Worthy took the show to its highest levels. Today's alledged Superstar has learned again how important the Shaq was to win it all. Did Kobe play tonight?

very unclassy way to finish the season, shoot'n 3 pointers when your up by 30 with 2 mins left?
— dave
Bird/Magic aren't walking through the door.
— Anthony Stewart, New Orleans
The best part is the Jimmy Kimmel pre-game half hour show. The rest is blah, and i am a basketball fan.
— Brian Skrzypchak, Eau Claire, Wis.
Celtics have so much talent, but unfortunately the TV announcers just want to talk about Kobe being like MJ. I'm tired of hearing about Kobe. Let's talk about the greatness of the team up 3-1.
— Doug, Charlotte, N.C.
This series is over. The only question is when or where.
— Karlo Fox
The Lakers went into the series "fat and happy." They made what, in many instances, can be a fatal mistake: they took their opponents for granted. Hubris has no place in military operations or in sports (not if you want to maximize the probability of victory).
— Greg M., Los Angeles
I love NBA, but Games start too late to watch and enjoy. Allot of folks have to wake up at 6am and going to bed at midnight takes the enjoyment out of it. Only weekend games are on Sunday which wont work for same and other reasons.
— Bob, Grand rapids, mich.
I'm not into the ref scandal however, I have never witnessed such poor performance by all of the refs during this these finals to date. Very inconsistent calls on both sides.
— Arnie Jackmond, Valencia, Calif.
The Lakers don't deserve to win the Finals anymore, even in the unlikely event that they do. Champions don't allow teams to come back. They relaxed, and the Celtics took the opportunity. As a Laker fan, this performance was one of their most disappointing.
— Khoi, Corpus Christi, Texas
sure all home teams get the benefit of the doubt when it comes to the referees. however the last two games, especially game 2, has sadly convinced me that the n.b.a. is no longer what it used to be. ..it's just a big contrived spectacle now. think i'll spend my $ on the nfl. & mlb. -one less fan
